This policy explains what information afaris.me collects, why, and what you can do about it. Last updated: 3 November 2026.
Who runs this site
afaris.me is the personal website of Ahmed Faris, a product designer, educator and mentor. Questions about this policy can be sent through the contact form.
What is collected
When you use the contact form. Your name, email address, subject and message. They are emailed to me and stored on this site so I can reply. Akismet, a spam filter run by Automattic, checks each submission and receives the form content and your IP address for that purpose.
When you browse. Google Analytics 4 (through Google Site Kit) records anonymous usage: pages viewed, approximate location, device and referrer. It uses cookies to tell visits apart. Hostinger, the host, keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security.
Language. A pll_language cookie remembers whether you chose English or Arabic.
Embedded content. Some pages embed YouTube videos and an ADPList reviews widget. These behave as if you visited those sites and may set their own cookies.
How it is used
- To reply to your message and keep a record of our conversation.
- To understand which pages are useful and improve the site.
- To keep the site secure and free of spam.
Your information is not sold, and it is not used for advertising.
How long it is kept
Contact messages are kept for as long as they are needed to follow up, and can be deleted on request. Analytics data follows the retention period set in Google Analytics.
Your choices
- Ask to see, correct or delete what you sent through the contact form.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser, or use the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
- Avoid embedded videos and widgets if you prefer not to load third-party content.
